Inspiring and outside the box-thinking
Bright is Holland’s leading multimedia brand for technology, design and style. They aim at people who have a ‘taste for technology’, an eye for design and a weakness for innovation. Their stories are available in the bi-monthly printed edition, on the daily updated website, through social feeds and even an app for smartphones. And, last but not least, Bright Screenzine, the app they specifically created some time ago for the iPad which contains subjects that have not appeared on their other channels.
The introduction of the iPad and its new possibilities inspired and re-jolted most publishers with new possibilities to enrich their current publications and conquer new readers. Some major players soon developed magazine apps but with very little success and at a very high cost. As more and more publishers are looking for alternative possibilities, we examine what went wrong.
